Pleasant Hill City Council members unanimously approved corrections to the legal boundary descriptions of the Pleasant Hill Marketplace Community Improvement District (CID) following a public hearing.

The CID is on a 20-acre property at the northeast corner of MO-7 Highway and East 163rd Street. This property will house a Price Chopper and five retail pad sites totaling roughly 17,650 square feet of additional space for shops, restaurants, or service businesses. The stores that will be going in those retail pad sites are, at this time, unknown.

The property owner, JWW Investment, requested that the acreage be legally corrected.

Interim City Administrator Nici Wilson commented during the meeting, “The initial application that was filed for the Pleasant Hill Marketplace CID inadvertently included the legal description of the entire 200-acre parcel, when it should have just included the 20 acres where the actual Pleasant Hill Marketplace project is going to sit.”

There were no public comments.

Council then unanimously approved Bill No. 26-01, which amends the boundaries of the Pleasant Hill Marketplace CID to reflect the corrected legal description. They also approved Bill No. 26-02, authorizing the mayor to execute an amendment to the Comprehensive Development Incentives Agreement to align with the district’s updated boundaries.
